Սեպտեմբերի 12-ին, ժամը 3-ի սահմաններում, օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոնից ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժնում հաղորդում ստացվեց, որ Արգիշտիի փողոցի շենքերից մեկի բակում ծեծկռտուք է:
Ավելի ուշ հաղորդում ստացվեց նաև հիվանդանոցից. նշված հասցեից գոտկատեղի կտրած-ծակած վերքով 32-ամյա մի տղամարդ էր բուժօգնության տեղափոխվել:
Օպերատիվ խմբի մի մասը՝ դեպքի վայր, մյուսները հիվանդանոց մեկնեցին: Բացահայտման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկված արագ և օպերատիվ աշխատանքի շնորհիվ քրեական հետախույզները տեղեկություններ ստացան, որ տուժողին մարմնական վնասվածք է պատճառել Նորաշեն թաղամասի 32-ամյա մի բնակիչ:
Նույն օրը նա բերման ենթարկվեց ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժին և տվեց խոստովանական բացատրություն:
