Ucom’s General Director Shares his Experience with Cybersecurity Training Course Participants
Ucom’s General Director, Ralph Yirikian talked on importance of cybersecurity as part of a specialized training program organized by Armenia Peace Initiative (API) in partnership with the French University in Armenia (UFAR).
Mr. Yirikian led an interactive discussion on the challenges of cybersecurity, business threats, and potential solutions to them, sharing key insights from his extensive experience in telecommunications and business.
Reflecting on training course, Ralph Yirikian emphasized the importance of the role of cybersecurity in shaping business resilience and digital security in today's world:
"In the 21st century understanding cybersecurity is not just a choice but a must and a responsibility. Only by strengthening our knowledge we can withstand the challenges and threats of digital world. That is why I am really happy to be a part of this training course. I am glad to share my experience and insights on the essence and role of cybersecurity in telecommunications industry. I’d like to point out that we in Ucom highly value the importance of cybersecurity as a client centric company to provide a reliable services”, mentioned Ralph Yirikian, General Director of Ucom.
Cybersecurity is a process of constant adaptation, because attack vectors are constantly changing. The aim of cybersecurity course is to improve the capacity of professionals working in key companies, banks, public institutions and certain sensitive ministries, so that they gradually acquire the skills they need to deal with the cyber threats to which they are regularly exposed.
The courses will enable participants to work in simulated environments, using cutting-edge technologies and tools such as Debian and Kali Linux. The trainers are Sébastien Barguirdjian, an internationally certified computer science expert with a specialization in Cybersecurity, and Nicolas Renard, a VMware vExpert & Microsoft Certified Expert and Trainer. Their teaching methods incorporate concrete examples and practical exercises, making the training particularly immersive and effective.
The workshop marks a significant step in strengthening Ucom’s dedication to promoting cybersecurity by equipping participants with the latest knowledge, tools, and best practices to protect digital infrastructures.
Note, that in 2023 Ucom received an ISO/IEC 27001 certificate in 2023, affirming the standards of the information security management system.
