"Plain and Simple": Financial Literacy with AraratBank

AraratBank has initiated a series of podcasts focused on financial literacy in collaboration with Ara Chalabyan, a finance lecturer at the American University of Armenia.

The first podcast episode, titled “Are Loans Taken Out in Your Name? Learn How to Protect Yourself”, explores the different methods by which individuals fall victim to financial fraud, including online loans to suspicious transactions.

The first podcast is already available at the following link.

The series of podcasts will soon address topics such as “Avoiding Phone and Online Scams,” “Smart Borrowing: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Consumer Loans,” and other important topics.

The bank has consistently prioritized financial literacy among young people especially, bringing to life various programs at different periods both through its own initiatives and in collaboration with industry institutions.

AraratBank, in partnership with the "Strong Mind" non-governmental youth organization, conducted financial literacy courses for students residing at the Student Home. The courses launched with the theme "Business from Scratch" and also included participation from students in the regions through an online format.

The bank has regularly participated in the public events program titled "Financial Literacy and Skills" launched by the Union of Banks of Armenia, while also taking an active role in the bimonthly journalistic seminars jointly organized by the UBA and the Economic Journalists Club, as well as in the "Best Financial-Banking Publication of the Year" contest.

Recently, online courses under the financial literacy program developed by Oogway Superhero School were successfully completed with AraratBank's support, featuring participants aged 14-17 from various regions of Armenia. The teenagers' initial feedback already indicates that the courses are fundamentally transforming their understanding of finance, making them more confident and financially literate as they look toward the future.

By launching a new financial literacy awareness campaign through the "Plain and Simple" podcast, AraratBank is confident that this collaboration will help our community develop members who are better protected against financial fraud and equipped for a more secure future.

The bank is regulated by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
