When September Comes: Idram&IDBank

We don’t mean to alarm you, but... it’s time to start getting ready for the new school year.
You might think there’s still a whole month left — but as any parent knows, today’s kids don’t make simple demands. Even the littlest ones want to take charge of everything themselves.

Back to School: A Nostalgic Look at the Early 2000s

Let’s take a moment to look back at how we used to prepare for school — before brand-name stores were a thing, and when shopping itself was an adventure.

There were the loud, chaotic markets, where we ran behind our parents without fully understanding why complete strangers called us “my dear” or “my love.” They insisted we wouldn’t find a better shirt anywhere else and somehow claimed that the skirt they had was sewn just for us.

Eventually, we’d find ourselves in a hot pavilion, standing on a piece of cardboard in a makeshift dressing room, trying on the clothes our mom had picked out. She’d always choose a size bigger — so it would last longer, of course. There weren’t many colorful or illustrated notebooks, and we didn’t really have the means or need to express our individuality. But honestly, none of that mattered. What truly mattered was seeing our friends again… and getting back to the mischief that came with being our age.

Everything has changed. Who said that’s a bad thing?

The choices available to both children and parents today are huge — from a wide range of bookstores and clothing shops to colorful and diverse backpacks, accessories, and even jewelry. And who said that’s a bad thing? Everything evolves, including the way we prepare for “Back to School.”

Yes, things have become a little more complicated. Even first-graders now have clear preferences and personal boundaries. But maybe that’s not such a bad thing either. Maybe it’s time to let them take the lead and stop trying to make every decision for them.

Get your child ready

Don’t interrupt their vacation, but gently remind them from time to time that September is just around the corner. Talk together about what needs to be done — the organizational steps, their wishes, their preferences.

If your child is still in the lower grades, it’s helpful to revisit previous lessons, letters, numbers, or subjects they found more difficult. That way, returning to the learning process will feel more natural and less stressful.

A list is always a good idea

Start by writing down everything your child will need for the new school year — from stationery and clothes to a new backpack and water bottle. This is especially helpful for parents sending their child to school for the first time. It can feel overwhelming, but you’re not alone. Talk to experienced parents, ask the teacher about the necessary supplies, and build your list step by step.

And to make things even easier, we’ve got a great offer for you!

From August 1 to September 30, 2025, when you shop at selected bookstores and pay with the Idram&IDBank application, you’ll receive up to 20% instant idcoin, but no more than 5000 idcoin per calendar month (after tax).

The list of participating bookstores — including ones from different regions — can be found at this link. So, whether you're in Yerevan or beyond, you can enjoy the benefits and check off that school list with ease.
