IDBank Sponsors YSU International Conference on “Transforming Economy”
On October 8, the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University (YSU) launched the 2nd International Conference titled “Transforming Economy: Human Capital Development, Creative Innovative Economy, Sustainable Inclusive Growth.” The conference is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU and the Regional Science Academy.
IDBank is the sponsor of the conference. According to the Chairman of the Bank’s Management Board, Mher Abrahamyan, the Bank values the development of economic thought and Armenia’s positioning on the international scientific map from this perspective.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at YSU, Karlen Khachatryan, noted: “It is very important that the banking system, represented by IDBank, is also involved in this conference. Unfortunately, such discussions are often viewed as purely academic and disconnected from the private sector. However, the primary goal of these discussions is to improve public welfare.”
The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform for disseminating the results of innovative research, which will later promote collaboration between academic circles and professionals from various scientific and educational institutions around the world.
A panel discussion on the topic “Rethinking Growth for a More Climate-Resilient Future” focused on the key question: How can the transition to clean energy reshape economic growth models and ensure sustainability, balanced development, and prosperity in both developed and developing regions?
Among the speakers was Yervand Aslanyan, Deputy Director of Corporate Banking at IDBank. “We all live on one planet, and if we don’t treat it like our home, we will face serious problems tomorrow. Yes, there may be more urgent issues, but environmental and climate-related actions cannot be removed from the agenda. We must work on them consistently.
As for the event, such initiatives raise public awareness and allow a wider audience to perceive, imagine, and understand the impact of their activities on the environment. The Bank can help them reach a level where these impacts are minimized as much as possible,” said Yervand Aslanyan.
The three-day conference is ongoing.
