The interview of Mher Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Board of IDBank, to Khaleej Times
Chairman of the Board of IDBank, Mher Abrahamyan, gave an interview to the world-renowned newspaper Khaleej Times. In his interview, he discussed the importance of the digitalization of IDBank’s services, international partnerships, new products, future goals, and other key topics related to the Bank’s development.
In particular, Mher Abrahamyan noted that more than 90% of IDBank’s services are now provided online, through digital channels. At the same time, the Bank maintains a wide network of ATMs and terminals both in Yerevan and in the regions to support cash needs.
“IDBank is also the leader of the Armenian QR payment ecosystem, in cooperation with Idram. We were the first in Armenia to introduce the ‘Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL)’ product. Our customers can make purchases, use this payment option, receive refunds and bonuses — all within one ecosystem,” Mher Abrahamyan said in the interview.
He also emphasized the Bank’s growing cooperation with international partners, particularly noting the strengthening ties between the UAE and Armenia. In recent years, collaboration has expanded in sectors such as tourism, finance, energy, and agriculture. In addition, IDBank’s partner, Idram, has recently announced a partnership with AliPay+, enabling tourists visiting Armenia to make QR payments at around 25,000 points of sale.
