Ucom General Director Ralph Yirikian Awards Certificates to Participants of Cybersecurity Training Course

Ralph Yirikian, General Director at Ucom, awarded certificates to the participants of the 5th Cybersecurity Intensive Training Course. The program was organized by the Armenia Peace Initiative (API) and the French University in Armenia (UFAR), with Ucom serving as the technological partner, helping to advance digital security competencies.

The 92-hour intensive course aims to equip specialists with the essential knowledge and skills needed to antispate, identify, and effectively counter cyber threats. The curriculum covered Introductory section and five fundamental modules: Cyber Threats and Security Needs, Virtualization, Networking, System Protection (SysAdmin Hardening), Digital Forensics, and Penetration Testing.

The training was conducted by renowned experts: Sébastien Barguirdjian, Cybersecurity Lecturer at the Rennes–Saint-Malo University of Technology, and Nicolas Renard, Cloud Architect at Orange.

“Cybersecurity is a global challenge that demands high preparedness, continuous learning, and a strong professional community. Initiatives like this not only strengthen individual competencies but also bolster the nation’s overall digital resilience. At Ucom, we remain committed to supporting programs that equip young specialists with knowledge that meets international standards and the rapidly evolving  requirements of the digital landscape,” noted Ralph Yirikian, General Director at Ucom.

“Cybersecurity holds a significant place within UFAR’s academic programs. Organizing this course fully aligns with our strategic goals of promoting innovation and addressing contemporary digital challenges,” highlighted UFAR Rector Salwa Nakouzi.

“The fifth Cybersecurity training program of the Armenia Peace Initiative stood out with the exceptionally strong participation of students from the French University in Armenia. Their engagement and readiness to acquire new knowledge are a testament to the high academic standards of the University, with which we have proudly collaborated for several years. Today, as new opportunities emerge for Armenia’s digital and technological advancement, we are more convinced than ever that educating young people in cybersecurity — and upskilling professionals already active in the field — is an investment in the future of Armenia and our society,” stated Vighen Papazian, President of the Armenia Peace Initiative.

On the day of the certificate ceremony, a panel discussion titled “The Artificial Intelligence Race: How Data Science Can Prevent Autonomous Threats” was also held at UFAR.
