'UK strain' of COVID-19 already circulating in Armenia
YEREVAN. – The "British strain" of the coronavirus is already circulating in Armenia, and it is not ruled out that some people in the country have symptoms caused by this strain. Romella Abovyan, head of the Epidemiology Department of Nosocomial Infections of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told this to reporters on Monday.
According to her, the purpose of the sample research being conducted is to find out what COVID-19 strains are circulating in Armenia, but the treatment and vaccination policy does not depend on these strains.
Also, the specialist noted that studies have shown that the "British strain" of the coronavirus spreads faster, as its reproducibility is 36% higher than the previous strain.
