With Ucom’s technical support, the 25th edition of Stepan Sargsyan cup in freestyle wrestling was held
Recently, with the technical support of Ucom, the 25th edition of the Cup named after Stepan Sargsyan, a renowned freestyle wrestler, European champion, three-time World Cup winner, Olympic vice-champion, and honored master of sports of the USSR, was held at the "Mika" sports complex in Yerevan.

A total of 125 wrestlers from 14 countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, and others, participated in the tournament. Notably, all the renowned wrestlers from Armenia took part in the event. The Armenian wrestlers secured 3 gold medals, as well as 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. These competitions served as preliminary matches for the World Championship in Serbia, which will serve as a qualifying event for the Olympics.
"We were pleased to extend our support for the tournament by offering access to the fastest internet connection in Armenia, allowing fans from various countries to watch this international event live," stated Ralph Yirikian, Director General of Ucom.

The tournament had a prize fund of 80,000 US dollars, which was distributed among 40 wrestlers who achieved prizes in 10 weight categories. Additionally, the trainers of the champion received monetary rewards.

"It is of utmost importance to have live broadcasts and high-speed internet access during prestigious tournaments like this. Initially, we provided internet access only to the technical staff, and later extended it to the referees. However, the quality and speed were so exceptional and uninterrupted that we decided to grant access also to athletes and guests, and everything worked flawlessly. We express our sincere gratitude to Ucom for providing such high-quality support. We hope for future collaborations," said Araik Baghdadyan, Secretary General of the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.
