AraratBank Stands with My Forest Armenia to establish Charles Aznavour Forest

True to its social responsibility, AraratBank joins the initiative of My Forest Armenia by supporting the establishment of Charles Aznavour Forest. As a general sponsor of the charitable concert to be held on November 18, the Bank contributes to this unique project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the legendary artist, aimed at creating a 100-hectare area of forest.

"The establishment of Charles Aznavour Forest holds special significance for us as it combines the preservation of cultural heritage with the creation of environmental values. As a dedicated partner of My Forest Armenia, we consistently contribute to Armenia's afforestation, and this initiative marks another milestone in our enduring collaboration. In commemorating Aznavour's centennial, we're not just planting trees – we're nurturing a living monument that will grow and thrive, echoing the enduring impact of this legendary artist.  This piano evening will undoubtedly serve as a cornerstone in our ambitious vision to establish a 100-hectare green tribute," noted Mher Ananyan, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of AraratBank. 

“Charles Aznavour's legacy resonates deeply in the hearts of millions across Armenia, France, and beyond. Through this initiative, we're inviting everyone to be part of creating a living tribute that bears his name. This forest will stand as an enduring symbol – not just of his legendary artistry, but of our collective commitment to both our nation and our planet. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Aznavour Foundation and AraratBank for their quick response and generous commitment to this vision," said Andre Gumuchdjian, founder and director of My Forest Armenia.  

"Charles Aznavour wasn't just an artist; he lived with universal concerns that were constantly reflected in his songs and interviews. Thus, in the song “La terre meurt” (The Planet is Dying), Charles Aznavour addresses Earth's pollution by humans and other environmental issues. As bearers and disseminators of his values, we at the Aznavour Foundation are convinced that environmental initiatives are extremely important and urgent. We enthusiastically accepted the idea of establishing the Charles Aznavour Forest and made the first investment. We hope that other organizations and individuals will also join this initiative," noted Kristina Aznavour, Executive Director of the Aznavour Foundation.

"AraratBank's commitment extends beyond concert sponsorship. Staying true to the corporate culture, our employees will actively participate in tree planting initiatives. This project represents not merely a financial investment, but an opportunity for each team member to personally contribute to a greener future," noted Anna Allahverdyan, the Advisor on Public Relations to the Executive Director of AraratBank.

The concert will take place at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on November 18 at 19:30. Renowned pianist Hayk Melikyan will perform a special program including pieces by Georgi Gurdjieff and Leos Janacek and a few improvisations on Aznavour’s music. The concert will feature a new piece specially created for the occasion by a young composer Elen Yolchyan "Mysteries of the Forest".
