AraratBank: Business Financing with up to 35% Cashback Opportunity

Under the Green Initiative and Competitiveness Enhancement Agreement, AraratBank, in partnership with EBRD, presents new business loan/leasing offers.

Within the framework of cooperation with EBRD, business loans/leasing are granted in an amount between EUR 10,000 and 3,000,000 or its USD and AMD equivalents for investments in energy-efficient practices, renewable energy resources and acquisition of vehicles. The loans/leasing are provided with the opportunity of up 35% one-time cashback.

Eligible borrowers are green technology manufacturers, suppliers, or service providers including legal entities registered and operating in the Republic of Armenia, individual entrepreneurs, and individuals engaged in agricultural activities.

Within the framework of the EU4Business-EBRD credit line program, the purpose of the loan/leasing is the acquisition of fixed assets - vehicles, agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as construction works (excluding multiapartment buildings). Another purpose of the loan is the repayment of accounts payable arising from the acquisition of fixed assets. The cashback will be provided in the amount of up to 15% of the loan amount.

Borrowers will be additionally provided with: 

  • 20% cashback if the borrower relocated from the Republic of Artsakh to Armenia in the period between September 27, 2020 and September 23, 2023 and is lawfully entitled to a support program for displaced persons according to the procedure established by the RA Government,
  • 15% cashback, but not exceeding AMD equivalent to EUR 60,000, where, within at least the last 6 months, a minimum of 10 per cent or 10 employees of the borrower's registered staff are displaced persons.

Green loans and green economy investments seek to ensure at least 20% energy savings, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions or resource conservation (including reduced water usage, materials application/waste generation). 

Fixed assets acquired by business entities must be included in the GEFF Green Technology Selector, having the capacity to result in long-term financial and environmental benefits that create diverse perspectives for development of business. In addition to the acquisition of fixed assets, this lending facility also focuses on the replenishment of working capital and the re-equipment and reconstruction of commercial/non-residential buildings and stations.

Cashback of up to 15% of the loan amount will be provided for the acquisition of solar PV power stations, solar water heaters, electric vehicle charging infrastructures, solar panels, and up to 10% of the loan amount will be provided for the purchase of electric cars.
