AraratBank and Teach For Armenia Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

On October 9, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between AraratBank and the Teach For Armenia Educational Foundation. The partnership aims to enhance the quality of education and ensure equal opportunities for every child in Armenia’s border and rural settlements.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, AraratBank is financing five Teacher-Leaders who are teaching in schools across the regions of Vayots Dzor, Tavush and Gegharkunik as part of the Teach For Armenia’s two-year Leadership Development Program.

This collaboration has been established within the Teach For Armenia’s Nation-Builders program, which enables individuals and organizations to become true allies in advancing educational equity. Through such partnerships, organizations contribute to access to quality education, community development, and promoting innovative teaching practices across Armenia’s most remote regions.

Beyond financial support, the Nation-Builders program promotes the formation of shared values and purpose between partners and school communities, creating a united movement around educational reforms. Sponsors receive regular updates, reports and photos from their partner schools and are provided with the opportunities of in-person or virtual visits.

Chairman of the Executive Board, CEO of AraratBank, Mr. Mher Ananyan emphasizes that the cooperation of the Bank with organizations contributing to educational and national preservation goals should not be regarded solely as a financial support. AraratBank places particular importance on the formation of the Armenian personality, national mindset and exemplary member of society, and therefore undertakes social programs to achieve these goals.

“AraratBank and the Teach for Armenia Foundation have been cooperating for the last three years, and the signing of the Memorandum is, in fact, a more expanded format of cooperation. It also demonstrates the efficiency of the work that has been done so far,” believes Mher Ananyan, adding that, apart from signing the document, there is an idea, spirit and sense of purpose to bring projects to life. The new members of the Foundation embody the values that are fundamental in working with border settlements and teaching children. They are the ones who may ensure the quality of education and upbringing of children in these communities.

Gor Nazaryan, Acting Executive Director of the Teach for Armenia Educational Foundation, says that such partnerships are important for the sustainable development and strengthening the impact of the Teacher Leadership Program as one of the ideological directions of the Teach for Armenia Foundation. He believes that when the business sector and educational initiatives join forces, they produce a far-reaching impact, opening up new opportunities for children, schools, and communities. He is confident that the partnership with AraratBank will contribute to advancing educational equity, strengthening the continuity and impact of the projects implemented by the Foundation in different communities of Armenia.

The unified efforts implemented by the Teach for Armenia Foundation and AraratBank around a common cause is a vivid example of the responsibility assumed towards the younger generation.

The cooperation between AraratBank and the Teach For Armenia Educational Foundation started back in 2022. As a result of the cooperation, physics Teacher-Leaders were recruited to the schools of Dzoragyugh and Pokr Masrik. Within the frames of a new and broader cooperation, five Тeacher-Leaders were appointed as math and computer science teachers in the schools of Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Tavush regions, ensuring the right of local children to education.
