Ucom Promotes Space Engineering Education

Ucom’s General Director Ralph Yirikian and CIPR Aerospace founder and CEO Mari Hrachuhi Boghosyan handed over the Space 1.0 educational kits — complete with a small artificial satellite, а ground station, a parachute system, and a user manual — to the A.H. Yeritsyan Gymnasium at Lomonosov Moscow State University Branch, as well as to the “Aregnazan” Educational Complex. Prior to this, the schools’ teachers underwent training by CIPR Aerospace specialists on the topics covered in the educational kit and they can now conduct classes using real satellite models.

Ucom continues to support the CIPR Aerospace Center’s Space 1.0 educational program, which has already been launched in Vanadzor and Odzun. The initiative aims to make space scince and aerospace engineering education accessible to schoolchildren and teachers, realizing the concept of “From Classroom to Orbit.”

“At Ucom, we attach great importance to technological education and do everything possible to ensure that more and more children become acquainted with the world’s most advanced technologies starting at an early age. Through this program, we give students the opportunity to work with real satellite prototypes directly in the classroom and to think the way NASA and SpaceX engineers do,” said Ralph Yirikian, General Director at Ucom.

CIPR Aerospace, founded by space engineering expert Mari Hrachuhi Boghosyan, who has more than 20 years of experience at NASA, has in recent years developed Armenia’s first CubeSat, CanSat, and PocketQube, as well as space science and aerospace engineering educational programs for schools and universities in Armenia.

“Our team continues to develop educational models in space science and aerospace engineering that enable school students to explore the field using real technical tools. Through this kit, students gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on engineering experience, including work with satellites, ground stations, and data collection. We thank Ucom for supporting the expansion of the program and providing schools with this opportunity,” said CIPR Aerospace founder and CEO, Mari Hrachuhi Boghosyan.

The initiative aims to enhance STEM education, introduce foundational skills in aerospace engineering, strengthen the technological potential of regional schools, and create new practical and career opportunities for future engineers.
